Worlds smallest mobile handset to revolutionise mobile world

If you thought its the iPhone that has revolutionised the mobile market, well you might not be completely correct. With most of the mobile majors releasing newer models of mobile phone, there is this one company which is all set to change the rules of the game.

An Israel-based company called Modu Mobile recently announced the world’s tiniest handset called the Modu, which is the worlds smallest mobile handset (recently certified as such by the Guinness Book of World Records).

Modu give its users the freedom to create a new phone as often as they like based on their personal preferences and style. Think of it as a Swiss army knife device that can take on different forms and functions.

Mobile users get to choose from different Modu jackets, or phone enclosures, and Modu mates, which are Modu-enabled consumer electronics devices, to dress up their slimmed down standalone phones.

You can access below listed features from the tiny Modu device such as:
A large screen or keyboard
MP4 player
Ability to send/receive SMS
Speaker
Bluetooth
Minimum 1GB of storage
Can act as mass storage USB Flash Drive

The possibilities are endless for branding, as new modu jackets take almost no time to develop and each jacket can even have its own theme that's loaded, translator content, when you pop the modu in. Check out the below video for a live demo of Modu in action. Modu was displayed in the Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona.

Nokia N96 the king of mobiles redefines high-end

The successor to the Nokia N95, the much talked about high end mobile the "N96" is finally launched at the Mobile World Congress in Germany. Nokia was quite tight lipped on N96 all along but this launch at the MWC was anticipated.

Nokia has built it to be a media powerhouse: The N96 has 16GB of internal memory and can be extended to 24GB with a MicroSD card.

The 5 megapixel autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens is carried from N95, but there are now two LEDs doing flash and video light duty. The 2.8 inch QVGA display will come in handy for the integrated DVB-H mobile TV tuner, while a 3.5mm headphone jack, A2DP, and integrated stereo speakers should handle audio quite decently.

The Nokia Video Center offers one place to discover and access a variety of mobile content ranging from movie trailers and comedy to news from world-leading content brands such as YouTube, Reuters, and Sony Pictures. The catalogue of internet video feeds is continually expanded with more regional and country specific content.

The Nokia N96 naturally supports the Ovi family of Nokia internet services, including maps, music, media sharing and more. Priced at Approx $800

True mobile YouTube experience now available on Helio

Helio (Helio, a MVNO joint venture between South Korea’s SK Telecom and Earthlink) has taken the mobile YouTube experience to the next level. This innovative application offers people even more customization and provides them with instant access to interact with the YouTube community whenever and wherever they go..

This new application is much better than Google’s YouTube mobile site at m.youtube.com, as it allows its users to view YouTube videos, rate and comment upon them and upload newly recorded videos as well. Users will be able to share favorite videos with friends in the phone’s contact list or to add a video to their list of Favorites and create new video playlists. Uploaded videos can be given a title, description, tags, category and be set to public or private. Only Helio allows members to also geo-tag video uploads from their mobile device. Using Ocean's built-in GPS capabilities, members can send GPS coordinates with their video to track where they were when everything went down.

The application doesn't cost extra. You just need a Helio Ocean. There aren't that many Helio phones out there overall, about 140,000 as of the third quarter of this year. But with free features like optimized YouTube and MySpace applications and Buddy Beacon, the GPS friend finder, Helio is making good on its promise to turn the mobile phone into something more.

Designed to easily browse, search and view millions of YouTube videos, Helio's YouTube application also offers a simply organized interface where members can access their own video feeds including My Subscriptions, My Favorites, My Playlists, My Videos and Received Videos. Members can also check out YouTube videos in traditional categories like Most Viewed, Most Recent, Top Rated and Recently Featured.

iPhone Interface Runs Faster using Google Application

Google and the iPhone have been togather from the very start, ever since the iPhone launched with Google Maps as one of its main applications. Now Google has created an integrated iPhone Google application that gathers most of its tools into one site.

Google recently updated their iPhone home screen which allows users to launch things such as Gmail, Reader, and Calendar from convenient tabs right on the touch screen. With this revamping, the apps now run faster.

To access the application, iPhone users can point their Web browser to Google's home page, which detects the Apple handset and Safari browser.

Google officials said in a statement that they used AJAX (asynchronous JavaScript and XML), the same technology they used to put their applications on the desktop, for the new application, which lets users switch between different services.

Google has added links to Google Maps and YouTube right on the main menu of the phone,as well as direct links to Gmail, Calendar, and Reader at the top of the screen.

Google is apparently working on making their applications run faster on other phones as well.

Skype now goes mobile, Talk worldwide for Free

They use retro 1980s styling twists and a geometric diamond pattern on the surface. The Nokia 7900 Prism and Nokia 7500 Prism are two new style-statement mobiles from Nokia.

Nokia 7900 Prism
Opposite its sleek, liquorice-black front, the Nokia 7900 Prism comes with an anodized aluminium backcover, which is coin-stamped and laser-etched in Nokia Prism's signature diamond-cut design. Its design is amongst the first to feature an Organic LED main display that supports up to 16 million colors and displays light-focused screensaver graphics. In addition, the Nokia 7900 Prism features a "living wallpaper", which subtly changes throughout the day according to time as well as battery and signal strength, so that each screen is unique.
