Your confidential data can be compromised on a public computer
What if somebody is monitoring all you activities on your computer ? What if he/she gets control of all your confidential data, like your logins/passwords or PIN of your online bank account ? Well the threat is very much real.
Keylogger softwares if installed on a computer it can monitor all the activities on it. The Keylogger will record every single character typed and have it save to a text
file. It also tracks what application are launched, sent emails, the visited websites, and save information typed in the forms. These keyloggers could put your valuable and confidential information at risk. So if you are using a public computer via an internet cafe, library computer or airport lounge computer the threat becomes more real.
Now let me talk about the keylogger software. If somebody needs to hack your valuable information or your user login / password, all they would do is install an invisible software on the public computer, and when i say invisible.. its invisible for for CTRL+ALT+DEL (Windows 98/Me/NT/Win2k/WinXP), invisible in Windows Explorer, invisible in msconfig, so it becomes more difficult for the victim to know if he is being monitored.
Although keylogger softwares would be dangerous on public computers for misuse, this might be useful at home PCs where small kids can me monitored on their web habits. This is one of the simplest and readily available software, Family Keylogger. The other one being Powered Keylogger.
Now let me talk about the keylogger hardware. An easily available one in the market, its the USB Keyboard Keylogger. Its small, easy to install, its installed between
your keyboard connection and system CPU. Once installed it can track and record all keystrokes in it's internal memory. These keystrokes can later be retrieved using any text editor. Which means you confidential data can be compromised.
However a physical inspection of the computer would help you to trace out any keylogger hardware. These hardware may soon become a challenge in schools and offices as these devices getting very affordable and widely available in markets.
However all said an done... here the challenge is... all these keyloggers are difficult to be traced. Does that mean no one should even access even their email account via a public computer ? Well not exactly... there is a method by which you can trick a keylogger. Any guess ?? post in your guess via comments. or if you would like to know how. email/post me your email id with subject:Keylogger hack. and i would respond..
Happy reading..

Data recovery and tracking options for lost or stolen mobiles
Todays mobile phones are not just an equipment for voice communication its much much more beyond that. Its now a daily companion which knows all your friends contacts, important files, your photo album, movie collections, your mp3 player, FM station and
the list continues. Its so much so valuable that one feels paralyzed if this companion is not with you for even a day.
Now what if one fine day your phone ever get lost or stolen? ofcourse its a financial impact, but as well as your valuable data is lost. hmm so rather to be sorry then you could take few precautions that would help you to 1. Recover your valuable data and 2. Help you track your mobile phone, when mobile phones are lost or stolen. Lets talk about the above two aspects.
1. Data recovery from a lost mobile phone: Precaution is better than cure, the saying that holds very valid here. Backing up your data is the best thing to do as soon as you get a new mobile. Since a lot of the new phones have a syncing option already in the phone it would be a good thing to just leave it on and simply let it update your PC with new information.
If necessary you can also back up your SMS. software like Oxygen Phone Manager. These applications allow you to back up all your data, and this doesn’t just include your contact base and schedule but even your current settings, images, videos etc. Basically it takes care of everything that’s on your phone and memory card. Here is the link.
2. Lost mobile tracking system: My first recommendation would be an anti theft mobile location-tracking system developed by Micro Lab. Its called the Micro LMTS (lost mobile tracking system). It will track the location of stolen or lost mobile sets in India. When someone tries to replace or change the SIM card of lost / stolen mobile, a email will automatically send out to the real owner of the mobile handset, and it will tell the exact location etc of the cell phone, thus by using this info the real owner could trap the culprit with the help of local police authorities etc. Here is the link.
Another option is PhoneBAK Mobilephone which again is an innovative lost & found anti-theft software program that sends the thief's contact number, location and other details to pre-defined phone numbers (e.g. spouse, colleague) when mobile phone device is lost or stolen. It sends out 02 customizable SMS Text message alerts (local & overseas) with information of IMEI, IMSI, location and the thief's contact number when the program detects that it is an unauthorized SIM card! This works quitely in the (background) of the mobile phone. One can place a order from here.
mGuard is another software for Sony Ericsson phones which provides protection and safety from theft or losing your device and helps to retrieve it back. Now the users can forget the fear of losing their device by protecting it using mGuard Software. As of now, mGuard is the world’s only Theft Recovery Software for Java phone. Download this from here.

Sony is expanding its a (Alpha) digital SLR system by introducing more models of SLR cameras, the recent model is aimed at photo enthusiasts or serious photo hobbyists.
Curtain were finally lifted on the long-awaited 'high end' Alpha digital SLR. The new
model sports an impressive specification including magnesium alloy construction, 12MP CMOS sensor, 5fps shooting and a wealth of features and customization options, though interestingly no live view option. There's also a couple of new lenses and a new vertical shooting grip. Its called the Alpha A700 D-SLR.

Methods of sharing huge size files online
Lately i came across a situation where i had to share a big video file (75MB after ziping) to one of my friend abroad. I was confident that i could either use Gmail or Yahoo service to send the zip file accross, but to my surprise both this services failed it had 10MB email attachement limitation.. Even some other prominent file hosting services had restriction of 10MB to 20MB restriction. I then googled for some possible solution on the internet, and found two options. 1. To split the file, make it smaller in size and then attach and send. 2. Use premimun file hosting services to transfer the huge files.
I was able to find many video splitter/ file splitter software, but to add to my surprize all of them had restrictions... in terms of time to split or to save or to buy the software to save the file, some ran its logo on the video. I was very dissapointed. But I came across this TOTALLY free software which made my day. This is a simple, easy to use freeware utility that helps the user split huge files into chunks of small sizes that can be recombined at ease to retrieve the original file. Moreover you needn't have the File Splitter for the re-combination.
The software is nourished with a variety of split options and provides an attractive and friendly GUI that makes the user feel at home. Go for this simple yet powerful utility - after all it's only a 9Kb download. Heres the linka to download the software.
Mirror Link 1 , Mirror Link 2
Large file hosting services sites like Rapidshare, Megaupload or Yousendit lets you upload files on the web upto a few hundred MBs. Gigasize is a new entrant that lets you send files upto 1 GB in size. You can again apply the splitter rule here so even if the file size exceeds the 1 GB limit, split it into smaller chunks and then upload them.

Samsung releases worlds first Hybrid Hard Drive (HHD)
The hybrids are out. These Samsung mutants of the data storage world are part hard disk drive, part flash memory cache. They have both the density to deliver 80GB, 120GB, or even 160GB of storage space in a neat 2.4-inch space, along with the
OneNAND flash technology to give 50 percent faster read-write speeds, as well as greener power consumption, and faster boot time. And like any good mutant, the hybrid hard drives can take a beating better than your typical hard drive. The flash memory allows the hard drive to not have to run as often as in a regular hard drive.
In fact, the hybrid can remain idle 99 percent of the time your laptop is on. That means the drive doesn't heat up and risk burning out as much, and it's less likely to suffer shock damage or data loss. That's what you get when you meld a 2.5 inch hard drive with 128 or 256 MB of flash memory, with a little help from Microsoft's ReadyDrive software. The MH80 hybrid hard drive series from Samsung delivers a 70 percent to 90 percent reduction in power usage, compared with typical hard drives. That sort of energy savings can translate into an additional half-hour to your battery life.
Furthermore, the drive operates at a lower temperature than regular HD, reducing the likelihood of damage and hard drive failure. Although Microsoft has touted flash drives as a means to improve the performance of its Vista operating system, there are two types of flash drives. The first, more common form is known as ReadyBoost, where a specially formatted USB flash drive stores Windows system files, making boot cycles and restores from hibernation faster and more efficient.
