Nokia C-series cheap, dual SIM mobiles C1 & C2 to land in India soon

In the flood of affordable dual SIM mobiles in India, now the new entrants are from the most credible company, Nokia. The news is that Nokia will launch its cheap dual SIM mobile handsets under the tag of C-series by 3rd quarter of 2010. The mobile handsets called as Nokia C1 and Nokia C2 will attract many buyers as they are a great combination of good price and impressive features.

Nokia C1

They will fall in the low-price segment and will cost not more than Rs.3000. Yet, they will facilitate good multimedia functionality via in-built VGA camera, FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack. The connectivity features are also quite likeable. There is a Bluetooth and GPRS integrated inside both Nokia C1 and C2.Nokia life tool services that keep users informed about health, entertainment and weather conditions is facilitated and Ovi mail can also be activated in Nokia C1 and Nokia C2.The memory is expandable via a microSD cardupto 32GB in Nokia C2 which is one of its kind in this price segment.

Nokia C2

There are some minor differences as well in the two handsets. One difference lies in their SIM functions. While Nokia C1 keeps its one SIM active at a time though switches fastly between the two, Nokia C2 manages to keep both the SIMs active at the same time. Its hot-swappable SIM is its another highlight and a feature that is first ever introduced in any of the mobiles around the world. Nokia C1 has a smashing standby of 48 days against 16.5 days of Nokia C2.

These handsets are really the most awaited and Nokia shall launch them soon and this will be followed by the launch of another unique gadget from Nokia, its "bicycle charging kit".

There are many low-priced dual SIM mobiles available in Indian handset market these days. Be it Karbonn, Spice or Oscar, all the new brands are launching a number of dual SIM mobile phones at a very economical price. Now, its Nokia’s turn to follow the trend and handset-making giant is ready with its cheap dual SIM phones called as Nokia C1 and Nokia C2 to be launched in India by Q3 of 2010. These phones would give some serious competition to the newly released dual SIM handsets from Samsung. As a matter of fact, Samsung India has launched 5 new dual SIM models in India in the range of Rs.3200 to Rs.9600.

Nokia C1

Both entry-level Nokia dual SIM phones will be launched simultaneously within two-three months. Interestingly, they will be very affordable as their price will fall in the low-price segment i.e below a price tag of Rs.2500. Yet, they will have an array of impressive features.

Nokia C1 & C2 would sport a FM radio and VGA camera. Besides that, their address book would be large enough to accommodate 1,000 entries. It will also have an in-built LED torch. Luxury stuff such as Nokia Life Tools service and Ovi Mail will also be integrated in these handsets.

The exact price or MOP and whether these handsets will be made at Nokia’s Chennai facility are some facts that are not yet revealed by the company.

Nokia C1-02

The Nokia C1-00, Nokia C1-01, Nokia C1-02 and the Nokia C2 will be priced between Rs.1,700 to 2,500.These are pretty economical and laid with good features as well. These will be launched soon in Indian mobile market, most probably by next quarter of 2010.

Nokia C1-00 is a basic entry-level dual-SIM phone that weighs around 72.9 grams. Its battery is robust with 6 weeks on standby and around 13 hours of talk time.It works on Symbian Series 3 OS

Its other cool features includes 0.3 Megapixel VGA Camera with video recording, MP3 Player and FM Radio. It supports Dual-band GSM 900/1800 MHz.

Nokia C1-00

Nokia C1-01 is another low cost feature phone with an estimated retail price of Rs.2,250. This candybar phone runs on similar OS and enjoys similar features The add on features includes Nokia’s Ovi Life tools which gives quick access to information pertaining to educational tools and entertainment news, besides a new feature called as Nokia Money which enables Mobile Banking.

Nokia C1-02 priced at Rs.2,050 is even more affordable but misses a camera in it. Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat are enabled on it.

Nokia C2 is candybar dual-SIM phone from Nokia.One can receive calls from both SIM cards at the same time and the second SIM is hot-swappable. Nokia C2 also enables a wide range Nokia’s Ovi Life Tools. It will be priced at Rs.2,600.

It is expected to launch a little late and will be available in Q4, 2010.
