Nokia dreams to make cheap mobile phone accessible to general masses for whom high price is a constraint and for that reason they remain aloof and unaware of new technology. MeeGo has been created by Nokia and Intel together to begin a shining new era in mobile computing.They created MeeGo, a Linux-based open software platform with a vision that all kinds of hardware devices viz. Announced sometime back at Nokia event at Singapore, Nokia X5 (the successor of the Nokia X5) has now launched in India at a price tag of Rs.9500. It is an unusually shaped mobile phone. Nokia X5-01 is a squarish vertical slider that debuts in India in bold shades viz. Yellow Green, Purple, Pink, Azure and Graphite Black. Its stylish looks are augmented with its full QWERTY keyboard and its most significant highlight is its Symbian S60 3rd edition operating system.

Nokia X2-01 appears on Net, is a S40 based QWERTY phone

The specifications and features of Nokia X2-01 are doing rounds on Internet. Though nothing is official, we know that Nokia X2-01 is a Nokia C3-01 look alike in many ways. Nokia X2-01 is supposedly a Nokia S40 phone with a hardware QWERTY keyboard just as Nokia C3 but differs also on some fronts. This is not a 3G handset and is 2G-only. It sports a 2.4" QVGA landscape display screen (unlike the touchscreen in Nokia C3-01) and other features like microSD card slot, FM radio and Bluetooth. Nokia X2-01 is a cheap mobile phone and even its predecessor was so nothing much is expected from Nokia X2-01 as such with Wi-Fi module removed and many more features lacking in it.

Its camera is superior to that of Nokia C3 and is of 3MP (instead of a 2MP snapper in C3) and yet there are no rumours that it enjoys Wi Fi capabilities also. C3 have Wi Fi but Nokia X2-01 lacked it and only enjoyed two dedicated music and messaging keys. The rumoured features of Nokia X2-01 are discussed here below. Display of Nokia X2-01 gives 320×240 pixels resolution and screen is sized at 2.4" and is QVGA TFT type.

For music lovers, it has a built-in FM-tuner and internal memory of 42 MB can be easily expanded via microSD slot to store data, music files etc. For connectivity purpose, the handset has USB and Bluetooth.

We hoped that this was Nokia X2 successor but that phone is much superior with 5MP camera and cool music playback features. The price details of Nokia X2-01 handset is not known but it seems that Nokia wish to bring more and more QWERTY phones for the masses making such phones accessible for budget buyers.

A new Symbian 1 smartphone from Nokia referred to as Nokia 5250 has finally launched in India and is available at all major mobile retail stores at a price of Rs. 7590. Rumours were ripe on Net that the Nokia 5250 will release around Diwali and they have become true with its unleashing now. It is targeted towards budget conscious buyers and it has landed in Indian handset market within a week of announcement of its launch. It is a touchscreen mobile phone that boasts a 2.8-inch wide HVGA display with a resolution of 640x360 pixels. For a speedy operation, Nokia 5250 works on a Symbian 1, S60 edition operating system. It has 51MB of internal memory storage which may be further expanded to 16GB.

Called as Nokia X3 Touch and Type or simply Nokia X3-02 will cost its buyers just Rs.7500. The handset is touchscreen type and comes with a normal alphanumeric keypad with 12 rows. A 2.4” touchscreen in a music-oriented handset is a cool thing. The phone is also sleek and measures just 9.6mm in width. Nokia X3 02 is also light in weight with 78 grams. There are two strange things about this upcoming launch of Nokia. We are talking about Nokia C5-03, a phone all set to be launched by Nokia by the end of November. First and foremost is that this one runs on Symbian 1 operating system. When Nokia itself ha launched devices based on Symbian 3, this Nokia C6-01 alike being launched with older version Symbian S60 5the edition is quite a disappointing proposition. Other strange thing is the complicated Nokia model numbering scheme that gets this phone a name that this one holds. Whatever, but Nokia C5-03 is all set to hit the Indian market most probably by end of November 2010 and is a Symbian^1 touch phone.

Nokia has unveiled the “touch and type” Nokia C3-01 that runs on S40 - the second in the kitty of it. The Nokia C3 Touch and Type has some of the best features ever on a Series 40 device. It's got a stainless steel body and has 5MP camera, 3G with HSPA and adds Wi-Fi.


The C3-01 has a 2.4" touchscreen and a 12-key hardware keypad too.
It's got quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. The internal memory is
expandable by microSD cards up to 32GB.


On the software side, the Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type has Twitter and
Facebook integration, the latest Nokia Messaging and email along with
Ovi Store access.


The Nokia C3 01 Touch and Type measures 111 x 47.5 x 11mm and weighs
100 grams. It is expected to cost Rs.10,500 and will be available by
the fourth quarter of this year.


Other features include Flash Lite 3.0, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and MIDP
Java 2.1 with additional Java APIs.

Nokia C6 01 is the latest offering of the Nokia C series smartphones which is cheap, lacks a QWERTY keypad and has a new operating system. There is a prominent 3.2" 360 x 640 pixels AMOLED capacitive touchscreen in Nokia C6 01. The Nokia C6-01 measures 104 x 53 x 14mm and weighs 131 gm. It's a bit different from its predecessor Nokia C6 being lighter, thinner and smaller. C6-01 and C6 have slightly different button arrangement on the front also.It is also priced
lesser than C6 at approx. Rs.17500.

The news is confirmed that handset making Finnish giant, Nokia will ship it’s all new music based phone Nokia 5250 in India in the third quarter of 2010. The phone is an attractive touchscreen mobile with 2.8-inches wide TFT display with 16:9 aspect ratio that support 640x360 pixel resolution.

The Finnish giant, Nokia will launch successor of Nokia 5230 called Nokia 5250, a music-oriented mobile handset in India by the end of the year 2010. The handset will be made available in tempting colors such as White, Blue, Purple and Black at a price of Rs.7500.

The touchscreen mobile with 2.8-inch TFT display support 640x360 pixel resolution has many impressive features incorporated in it. There are awesome multimedia features such as in-built FM radio, 2 MP camera and pre-installed Ovi Share and GPRS. Ovi Share allows sharing of pictures and Ovi Music Unlimited feature that will be given in selected areas will enable users to share and download apps and games directly from the web. There is inherent free Guitar Hero 5 Mobile game in Nokia 5250.

The internal memory of Nokia 5250 stands at 51MB and this is expandable to up to 16GB via microSD memory card for data storage.

Nokia C-series cheap, dual SIM mobiles C1 & C2 to land in India soon

In the flood of affordable dual SIM mobiles in India, now the new entrants are from the most credible company, Nokia. The news is that Nokia will launch its cheap dual SIM mobile handsets under the tag of C-series by 3rd quarter of 2010. The mobile handsets called as Nokia C1 and Nokia C2 will attract many buyers as they are a great combination of good price and impressive features.

They will fall in the low-price segment and will cost not more than Rs.3000. Yet, they will facilitate good multimedia functionality via in-built VGA camera, FM radio and 3.5mm audio jack. The connectivity features are also quite likeable. There is a Bluetooth and GPRS integrated inside both Nokia C1 and C2.Nokia life tool services that keep users informed about health, entertainment and weather conditions is facilitated and Ovi mail can also be activated in Nokia C1 and Nokia C2.The memory is expandable via a microSD cardupto 32GB in Nokia C2 which is one of its kind in this price segment.

There are some minor differences as well in the two handsets. One difference lies in their SIM functions. While Nokia C1 keeps its one SIM active at a time though switches fastly between the two, Nokia C2 manages to keep both the SIMs active at the same time. Now, its Nokia’s turn to follow the trend and handset-making giant is ready with its cheap dual SIM phones called as Nokia C1 and Nokia C2 to be launched in India by Q3 of 2010. These phones would give some serious competition to the newly released dual SIM handsets from Samsung. As a matter of fact, Samsung India has launched 5 new dual SIM models in India in the range of Rs.3200 to Rs.9600.

Both entry-level Nokia dual SIM phones will be launched simultaneously within two-three months. Interestingly, they will be very affordable as their price will fall in the low-price segment i.e below a price tag of Rs.2500. Yet, they will have an array of impressive features.

Nokia C1 & C2 would sport a FM radio and VGA camera. Besides that, their address book would be large enough to accommodate 1,000 entries. It will also have an in-built LED torch. Luxury stuff such as Nokia Life Tools service and Ovi Mail will also be integrated in these handsets.

Nokia N8 to foray in India by September, 2010

It is not certain that Nokia N8 will release in early September or will take longer than 4 weeks to arrive. But the good news about the launch of the Nokia N8 in India is that it will soon make it to the markets in India.This is official and Nokia buffs are elated. Nokia N8 is a feature packed device that will be launching at a price tag of Rs.22,000. The colours in which this smartphone will be available are confirmed as black, green and silver.

Nokia C5 is the first C-series device to be launched in this month in the Indian mobile market. The handset offers a wide range of social networking services like Facebook, YouTube, Friendster, MySpace, which aims it at youth that want to stay in touch everywhere and anywhere. Nokia C5 has a bar form, 2.2-inches TFT display, 16M colors and gives 240x320 pixel resolution.The device physically measures 112x46x12.3 mm. The handset is light weight and only 90g including battery.
