As per the date of announcement, the phone has landed in major retail mobile stores in India at a price of Rs. 15,990. Based on new Android 2.1 OS, Motorola smartphone “Flipout” is a cool choice for people who are young at heart and desire smart and advanced features in their handset. It’s Motoblur and QWERTY keypad features will handle User Interface of this handset to let it work smoothly. It is a QWERTY phone which slides out, which is why it called as Flipout.

Motorola Flipout to launch in November first week in India

The new Android 2.1 OS based Motorola smartphone “Flipout” will soon be out in India, most probably by first week of November. The device will also incorporate Motorola's Motoblur for handling User Interface work.Motorola Flipout is a flip phone as suggested by its name and thus boasts of a slide (also called as a flip). This function reveals the full five row QWERTY keypad when used.

Priced at Rs.15,299, phone best price may differ slightly. Motorola Charm may also launch with Flipout, but nothing is certain.

Sony Ericsson to bring Windows 7 phones by 2011

In a fascinating revelation, Sony Ericsson CEO, Bert Nordberg has announced that the world class handset maker will launch their Windows 7 based phones by next year i.e. 2011. Sony Ericsson Android operating system based handsets are already booming the market and counts for 19% market share. The company plans to take over the market with Microsoft’s new OS, WP7 as well before its too late. Companies such as HTC, Dell, Samsung and LG have already launched handsets based on WP7 in the Indian handset market.

Motorola announces Android based four new samrtphones

This is indeed a joyful moment for Motorola mobile lovers. Reason? Motorola has announced four new handsets, all smartphones to be launched soon, Each of these four new Motorola phones has a distinct set of features and are all Android-based. In fact, one of them, the Motorola Droid Pro, an Android smartphone is totally capable of conquering the BlackBerry mobiles phone market. The Droid Pro runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) operating system and boasts a built-in QWERTY keypad with a 3.1-inch touchscreen.

Xperia X-8, Cedar & Yendo unleashed by Sony Ericsson in India

The mobile giant, Sony Ericsson has unleashed latest three models of mobile handsets,a smartphone Xperia X8, walkman series phone Yendo and a 3G basic phone Cedar. The handsets will be soon available at retail shops in India by September.

is an entertainment-oriented smartphone based on Android platform. Cedar is the basic entry level model for 3G and Yendo is the full touch walkman phone. Xperia X8 has a 3-inches wide HVGA capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution. Xperia X8 has in-built 3.2 MP camera and FM radio. Its speedy web browser supports quick video streaming and access to all kinds of social networking via Timescape and music player with PlayNow and TrackID. Xperia X8 is powered by 600MHz CPU and Google Android Operating Sysytem 1.6. For fast connectivity, there is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone has capacious 128MB internal memory and a 2GB microSD card. The memory can be extended to 16GB.

Sony Ericsson Ceder

Sony Ericsson has also launched a fully touchscreen walkman series phone called Yendo that features four corner touch user interface (UI) and it comes armed with 2 MP camera with digital zoom feature. Other music features of the handset includes a FM radio, a music player and a walkman player. Its 3.5mm audio jack, MP3/AAC tones and a Bluetooth A2DP stereo are quite good add-ons. It sports a 2.6-inches TFT screen with 320 X 420 pixel resolution, Yendo has micro USB connector, USB mass storage and modem also.

Cedar is the entry-level handset from Sony Ericsson with 3G capabilities. Cedar offers easy access to SNS through its specialized feature Widget Manager 2.0. It sports a wide 2.2-inch display. Huawei to sell cheap smartphones in India

China based Huawei Technologies has plans to sell about one million smart phones in India under its own brand name in 2010. At present, Nokia has the largest share (54.1%) of mobile handsets sold in India in the last year. But, the popularity and demand of low-cost cheap mobiles is fast emerging in massive Indian mobile market.

Huawei will also benefit from the trend as it will start selling cheap but full-featured devices or smartphones by August, 2010. Later, 3G services may also be catered to by the Huawei Technologies.

The company will sell these smartphones through its own retail channels. These 20 or so smartphones will run on open source Android operating system and the Brew MP operating system from Qualcomm. The Huwaei smartphones prices will fall in the affordable range of Rs.7000 to Rs.12000.

Huawei to sell a million smartphones in India

Huawei Technologies, a China based vendor has plans to sell a million smartphones in Indian smartphone market this year. The company will sell these smartphones through its own retail channels under its brand name. Earlier, company products like mobile phones and wireless data cards for laptops were sold by local service providers and telecom operators like Tata Teleservices, Bharti Airtel, and Reliance Communications used to put their own brand name on them.

Huawei Mobile

After introduction of new security regulations by GOI, imposed from February 2010, Huawei has planned to target the smart phone market with 20 new mobile models.

These mobiles will be priced between Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 12,000. Like other Chinese handsets, these mobiles will also be made of chipsets from Qualcomm. Some Huawei smartphones will run on open source Android operating system and the rest on the Brew MP operating system from Qualcomm.

These phones will be available in India through retail channels from August 1, 2010.
