Yamaha Motor brings "Yamaha Safe Riding Science" in New Delhi

Riding on the success of the Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) training events in Chennai, Pune and Bangalore this year, India Yamaha Motor conducted YSRS event in New Delhi to impart safety riding techniques among youth and help contribute to an accident-free traffic environment. Attended by 100 students of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Dwarka, New Delhi, the day long program was divided into 2 sessions, 1st was a classroom session or theoretical session and 2nd was practical session wherein 3 practical skills were taught which are slow balancing, slalom and breaking.

The initiative is focused especially on inculcating safe riding habits and aims to contribute to raising traffic safety awareness among local communities and not only among Yamaha customers. The initiative has been developed by the company in accordance with its basic philosophy of "Safety riding being achieved by intelligent activity, not by the operation or movement". Intelligent activity, in turn, is achieved by imbibing and following traffic safety awareness and values into riding.



Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yutaka Terada, Director – Sales and Marketing said, "YSRS initiative was started by Yamaha in order to educate youth about dangers of riding in the increasing traffic condition and promote safe riding in the country. By becoming familiar with the safe and correct riding methods, riders not only avoid accidents and injuries, but also enjoy more when riding their motorcycles. We have received overwhelming response for YSRS program and youth in various cities have learnt the techniques of safe riding while undergoing a positive attitudinal change towards safer riding practices.”

Through this initiative, the company is all set to take the idea of safe riding to colleges across the country. It has also prepared a short film of 20 minutes duration, in which it has scientifically analyzed impact force, inertia force and frictional force from a road traffic viewpoint.

Yamaha launched Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) initiative in India in 2008, and has successfully introduced it to the youth of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Goa, till now. Overwhelmed by the public response everywhere, Yamaha is back in Delhi with another round of this event, and hopes that it will go a long way in inculcating safe riding habits among everyone who have a passion for biking.

Hero Honda launches new Splendor Pro

India's major two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Honda Motor has just launched the new version of the company flagship model, 'Hero Honda Splendor Pro' in India. The new version is equipped with classy features like electric start, new decals, alloy-wheels, new speedometer, grab handle and side indicators. The powertrain of new bike is more or less features same as old horse, but additionally build on the latest BS-III emission norms compliant. The new Splendor Pro will compete with Bajaj Discover DTS-Si, TVS Jive, Honda CB Twister, Suzuki Slingshot and Yamaha YBR 110. Hyosung to launch ST7 in India by Diwali

Mahindra plans to launch new bike next year

Mahindra 2-wheeler, India's one of the leading two-wheeler producer, is all set to launch the new bike soon in India. Harley Davidson to launch new bikes next year

Harley-Davidson, one of the largest cruiser motorcycle manufacturer, is all set to add new motorcycles range and increase more Indian cities from the next year. The company is presently offering 12 motorcycles in the Indian auto market, which are selling from Harley Davidson's four outlets including Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Anup Prakash, managing director, Harley-Davidson India, said, "We are in the Indian market with a long-term vision and are here to stay. By September end we will be launching our fifth dealership in Bangalore and then wait for the response. From January 2011, we will target other cities.”



Harley Davidson is currently in Asian markets such as china, which is a leader in heavy-duty leisure riding motorcycles. Suzuki Motorcycle has recently launched two massive motorcycles including Suzuki Gsxr and Suzuki Bandit. Japan based two-wheeler maker is known for their excellent superbikes manufacturer in the Indian auto market.



The company has not announced about its specification and features, but as per some auto portal reports the new SlingShot 125 might be powered by the same 4 stroke, Air Cooled, OHC. The heart of this model would be produced an excellent power and torque. It is also expected to be priced of around Rs 60,000.

SMIPL has not any impressive premium motorcycles in the Indian market, which can attract more customers in the country. After facing low demand of the company premium motorcycles, Suzuki is planning to launch an classy and aggressive motorcycle soon in India. Presently, the company has good number of premium motorcycles including Suzuki Heat, Zeus, GS150R and Access 125 scooter, which can facing tough competition from their rivals. Apart from that launch, Indian bike lovers will see more launches in India that includes TVS Apache 220, Kawasaki Ninja 650R, TVS Max, Vibgyor Hunter, Suzuki Gladius, Bajaj Blade, Tvs Neo and Vibgyor Shark.

Upcoming scooters in India

India's gear-less scooters market is growing well after launch of the first gearless scooter Honda Activa that dominated the two-wheeler market till date. After seeing the overwhelming response from the market, other two-wheeler players including Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors, Yamaha Motors, Suzuki Motorcycle and Piaggio. are also planning to launch their automatic transmission scooters in India.

Bajaj Automobiles India Limited, one of the largest two-wheeler market leader, is going to introduce the new Bajaj Blade soon in India. It may be launched with a 125cc, 4 valve, DTS -i engine, which can generate impressive maximum power and torque. Before two-years backs, the company had already launched an gear-less scooter, Bajaj Kristal. It has been discontinued by Bajaj Auto owing to low demand in the Indian market. The company is now expecting that the new Blade will be more attracting scooter than the phased out model. The Bajaj Blade has also been equipped with latest technology and eye-catching graphic design.



Meanwhile, TVS Motors is enjoying excellent market share with its popular scooter TVS Scooty and Now it might get new version, TVS Streak Hybrid. The Chennai based two-wheeler manufacturer is also planning to launch new TVS Neo by the month of October this year with the price tag of around Rs 48,000. The new TVS Neo comes loaded with 110cc, Single Cylinder, SOHC, 4 Stroke engine which is believed to perform well. TVS Motors has already launched Neo in Indonesia.



India Yamaha Motors is also ready to introduce new premium scooters in the auto market, which will compete with Honda Activa, TVS Scooty, TVS Wego and Hero Honda Pleasure. The all new premium scooters will be known as Yamaha Nouvo and Yamaha Bws. According to some auto website reports the all new Yamaha Scooters will be available in the Indian auto market by the end of this year.



Suzuki Motorcycles, which is most popular for their superbikes, is also all set to release its new Suzuki Skydrive in the country which may be launched along with TVS Neo. Both the scooters are expected to be launched at the same time. The new Suzuki Skydrive seems quite same as TVS Neo. Both scooters designed on the same platform. Suzuki Skydrive might be introduced at an attractive price range of Rs 45,000 (ex-showroom).



Piaggio Vespa Lx 125 is also in headlines from few days for launching in the Indian auto market. Piaggio is one of the largest three-wheelers market leader, which is planning to launch its new Piaggio Vespa Lx 125 in the year 2012. TVS MAX 4R ready to hit rest of Indian streets

The new upgraded version of TVS MAX has already been introduced in Indore in last month, which is known as TVS Max 4R. The country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor is now targeting to spread their new Max 4R by the launching across in India. The revamped version of MAX R is equipped with latest Bharat Stage III norms compliant. The popular Max R model of the company was discontinued owing to the Bharat Stage II norms in 2005. The new TVS Max 4R would be powered by 4-stroke, single cylinder, Air Cooled engine. The powertrain of TVS Max 4R produces a maddening power output of 8,4 Bhp @ 7500 rpm while generates peak torque of 8.3 Nm @ 5500 rpm from its 110cc engine capacity. It will also be available with both self and kick start option.



TVS Motors is presently having a good number of new 110cc two-wheelers such as TVS Star Sport, TVS Jive (auto-clutch motorcycles), TVS Wego. All these existing models are getting excellent response from the Indian buyers. In a bid to fight competition from another major two-wheelers makers in the Indian auto market, TVS Motor will bring back one of its strong motorcycles brands Max R. It has got a good capabilities to compete with another 110cc motorcycles including Hero Honda CD Dawn, Bajaj Platina, Honda CB Twister and Hero Honda CD Deluxe in the auto market. TVS has also added eye-catching graphics design, which may help to attract a large number of Indian buyers.



According to demand of strong bikes for carrying heavy load capacity in the rural market, the company has started production of TVS MAX 4R with heavy load capacity. It has additionally fitted with detachable rear seat, Four shock absorbers, wheel and indicator guards, which will be providing a great capacity of carrying heavy load. As per some news sources, the all new upgraded version of TVS Max R is expected to be priced range of around Rs 35,000. Vibgyor vehicles to introduce two new bikes by October

The newly entrant Kolkata based two-wheeler manufacturer, Vibgyor Vehicles is all set to establish their new motorcycle sales and production point in India. Through the new two-wheeler point of the company will sell new motorcycles range across segment. According to some news sources the company is planning to launch two new premium motorcycles including Vibgyor Hunter 125cc and Shark 150cc in India by the month of October 2010. Vibgyor vehicles has already launched its entry-level Vibgyor Gallop 100cc, which is getting considerably excellent response from the auto market.



The new premium motorcycles have been displayed at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The company intends to export its bikes in the other Asian markets in upcoming years. The company is planning to set-up some new vehicle manufacturing units in India so that it can achieve its previously set target of achieving a manufacturing capacity of 3.5 lakh units by year 2012.
