Yamaha Motor brings "Yamaha Safe Riding Science" in New Delhi

Riding on the success of the Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) training events in Chennai, Pune and Bangalore this year, India Yamaha Motor conducted YSRS event in New Delhi to impart safety riding techniques among youth and help contribute to an accident-free traffic environment. Attended by 100 students of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT), Dwarka, New Delhi, the day long program was divided into 2 sessions, 1st was a classroom session or theoretical session and 2nd was practical session wherein 3 practical skills were taught which are slow balancing, slalom and breaking.

The initiative is focused especially on inculcating safe riding habits and aims to contribute to raising traffic safety awareness among local communities and not only among Yamaha customers. The initiative has been developed by the company in accordance with its basic philosophy of "Safety riding being achieved by intelligent activity, not by the operation or movement". Intelligent activity, in turn, is achieved by imbibing and following traffic safety awareness and values into riding.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yutaka Terada, Director – Sales and Marketing said, "YSRS initiative was started by Yamaha in order to educate youth about dangers of riding in the increasing traffic condition and promote safe riding in the country. By becoming familiar with the safe and correct riding methods, riders not only avoid accidents and injuries, but also enjoy more when riding their motorcycles. We have received overwhelming response for YSRS program and youth in various cities have learnt the techniques of safe riding while undergoing a positive attitudinal change towards safer riding practices.”

Through this initiative, the company is all set to take the idea of safe riding to colleges across the country. It has also prepared a short film of 20 minutes duration, in which it has scientifically analyzed impact force, inertia force and frictional force from a road traffic viewpoint.

Yamaha launched Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) initiative in India in 2008, and has successfully introduced it to the youth of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Nagpur and Goa, till now. Overwhelmed by the public response everywhere, Yamaha is back in Delhi with another round of this event, and hopes that it will go a long way in inculcating safe riding habits among everyone who have a passion for biking.

Hero Honda launches new Splendor Pro

India's major two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Honda Motor has just launched the new version of the company flagship model, 'Hero Honda Splendor Pro' in India. The new version is equipped with classy features like electric start, new decals, alloy-wheels, new speedometer, grab handle and side indicators. The powertrain of new bike is more or less features same as old horse, but additionally build on the latest BS-III emission norms compliant. The new Splendor Pro will compete with Bajaj Discover DTS-Si, TVS Jive, Honda CB Twister, Suzuki Slingshot and Yamaha YBR 110. New Hero Honda Super Splendor review

The all New Hero Honda Super Splendor has recently been launched in the Indian market from India's biggest two-wheeler market leader, Hero Honda Motors Limited. The company has developed the new Bike with the latest Bharat Stage-III emission norms compliant which makes it great fuel efficient motorcycle in India. New Hero Honda Super Splendor is powered by 124.7cc, 4 Stroke, OHC, Single Cylinder, Air Cooled engine which produces top power up 6.72 KW (9 BHP) at 7000 rpm. It has an excellent pickup with a torque accounting 10.35 Nm at 4000 rpm.The company has also provided 4 Speed Costant Mesh transmission system along with Multi Plate Wet Type of clutch. The new generation Quantum Core engine which delivers excellent fuel efficiency of around 70km/l from Hero Honda family. The fuel tank capacity of this bikes is same as the existing model, 13litres. The company claimed the top speed of this bike of around 90kmph in City.



The new Super Splendor has been packed with impressive features including Exciting new graphics design, attractive meter console, classy tail light and Stylishly new alloy wheelers which makes it much more stylish motorcycle than the existing model in the auto market. Hyosung to launch ST7 in India by Diwali

The excitement of cruiser motorcycles are growing extremely well in the Indian market. Mahindra plans to launch new bike next year

Mahindra 2-wheeler, India's one of the leading two-wheeler producer, is all set to launch the new bike soon in India. The company is presently selling four models in the Indian auto market including Mahindra Duro, Rodeo, Kine and Sym Flyte. Harley Davidson to launch new bikes next year

Harley-Davidson, one of the largest cruiser motorcycle manufacturer, is all set to add new motorcycles range and increase more Indian cities from the next year. The company is presently offering 12 motorcycles in the Indian auto market, which are selling from Harley Davidson's four outlets including Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Anup Prakash, managing director, Harley-Davidson India, said, "We are in the Indian market with a long-term vision and are here to stay. By September end we will be launching our fifth dealership in Bangalore and then wait for the response. From January 2011, we will target other cities.”



Harley Davidson is currently in Asian markets such as china, which is a leader in heavy-duty leisure riding motorcycles. The company is expecting some competition in the country from the Japanese bike makers. Prakash said we welcome any competition as they support in developing and maturing the market. Sanjay Tripathi, director — marketing, said the company will adopt a 360-degree approach to popularise the culture in India. The company also selling branded accessories including riding gear, fashion gear, wallets and boots. Besides, Harley Davidson will host several innovative programmes to improve the fan following, he said.

All new Harley Davidson bikes are available with hefty price tag of between 6 to 35 lakh. Suzuki announced the launch of new Slingshot 125 in India

Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited, is likely to launch new bike in India on 25th August. The company has recently sent an preliminary invitation for a press conference in Delhi on August 25 for an impotent announcement. The company could be launched an upgraded version of Suzuki Zeus christianed as Suzuki SlingShot 125. Suzuki Motorcycle has recently launched two massive motorcycles including Suzuki Gsxr and Suzuki Bandit. Japan based two-wheeler maker is known for their excellent superbikes manufacturer in the Indian auto market.



The company has not announced about its specification and features, but as per some auto portal reports the new SlingShot 125 might be powered by the same 4 stroke, Air Cooled, OHC. Bajaj Automobiles India Limited, one of the largest two-wheeler market leader, is going to introduce the new Bajaj Blade soon in India. It may be launched with a 125cc, 4 valve, DTS -i engine, which can generate impressive maximum power and torque. Before two-years backs, the company had already launched an gear-less scooter, Bajaj Kristal. It has been discontinued by Bajaj Auto owing to low demand in the Indian market. The company is now expecting that the new Blade will be more attracting scooter than the phased out model. The Bajaj Blade has also been equipped with latest technology and eye-catching graphic design.



Meanwhile, TVS Motors is enjoying excellent market share with its popular scooter TVS Scooty and Now it might get new version, TVS Streak Hybrid. India Yamaha Motors is also ready to introduce new premium scooters in the auto market, which will compete with Honda Activa, TVS Scooty, TVS Wego and Hero Honda Pleasure. The all new premium scooters will be known as Yamaha Nouvo and Yamaha Bws. According to some auto website reports the all new Yamaha Scooters will be available in the Indian auto market by the end of this year.



Suzuki Motorcycles, which is most popular for their superbikes, is also all set to release its new Suzuki Skydrive in the country which may be launched along with TVS Neo. Both the scooters are expected to be launched at the same time. The new Suzuki Skydrive seems quite same as TVS Neo. Both scooters designed on the same platform. Suzuki Skydrive might be introduced at an attractive price range of Rs 45,000 (ex-showroom).
