Maruti Suzuki sales in October 2010

India’s car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 118,908 vehicles in October 2010, growing 39.2 per cent over the same month last year. This includes 11,353 units of exports. In October 2009, the company had sold a total of 85,415 vehicles including 13,864 units for export markets. For the first time, the company crossed 1 lakh units sales mark in the domestic market in October 2010, touching 107,555 units. The previous highest domestic sales was 95,148 units in September 2010.



The October 2010 sales marked the highest ever numbers in all large volume segments:A2 segment: 77,502 (previous highest 68,921 units in Sep10); A3 segment: 11,621 (previous highest 10,883 units in May10) and C segment: 15,379 (previous highest 14,157 units in Aug10).

In October 2010, the sales in A2 segment grew by 50.7 per cent while in the A3 segment the sales growth was 32 per cent, as compared to October 2009. The sales growth in the C segment was 91.8 per cent while sales in B segment were up 151.2 per cent over October 2009.

Maruti Ritz crosses one lakh sales mark

Maruti Suzuki Ritz, which had created history by achieving the fastest ever 50,000 sales, added yet another feather in its cap by clocking the fastest ever sales of 100,000 units today in A-2 premium segment. he car which was launched in May 2009 has received an incredible response from the very first day of its launch. At its launch, the Ritz not only created a flutter in the competitive 'A-2 premium' segment, it was immediately hot-listed by the media and industry. Many accolades followed (please see box for details), and the super-car won the Car-of-the-Year in India and abroad, for its path-breaking looks and styling, superior safety features and its ability to balance a dynamic driving experience with a comfortable ride, bold styling and excellent road handling. Ritz delivers superb fuel efficiency of 17.7 kmpl in petrol and 21.1 kmpl in diesel.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), said, “We are overwhelmed by the terrific response given by our customers to the Maruti Suzuki Ritz. The Ritz was targeted at our discerning customers who, while valuing the traditional Maruti Suzuki attributes of fuel efficiency, reliability and performance, also desired contemporary looks and attitude in the vehicle. The fastest 1 lakh sales mark is customers’ endorsement to all these attributes Ritz stands for.” The Ritz, developed on the successful Maruti Swift platform and positioned at the premium-end of the compact car market, has been specifically designed for India. Maruti Suzuki engineers worked with the Suzuki design team in Japan to co-design the car and carry out India-specific changes such as superior transmission, improved suspension and better ground clearance.

The Ritz was also India’s 1st BS IV complaint car to be launched in the passenger car segment. The Ritz is available in two power train options: 1.2-litre, four-cylinder K Series petrol engine with maximum power of 85 PS and the highly successful 1.3-litre, DDiS diesel unit that delivers a maximum power of 75 PS. The Ritz comes with Drive-by-wire technology in both petrol and diesel variants. This along with the 32-bit Engine Management System provides faster signal processing and quick response. “The Ritz reaffirms our commitment to offer world class products to the Indian market. Since a majority of our customers are young who would prefer nothing but the very best in technology and styling, we would continue to feed the market with world class products” added Mr. Pareek. Maruti Suzuki has also started exporting Ritz to Indonesia.

Maruti Kizashi to be launched in India next month

The excitement of this ongoing festival season is tremendously booming the Indian auto market. The major auto market leader of the country is ready to get the advantage from the auto market and already prepared to launch new cars in India. Taking about advantage of the Diwali season in India, the country biggest auto manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is mulling over to launch the new premium sedan, Maruti Kizashi in India in November 2010. The new Kizashi has already been launched in various countries including Australia, Japan and US auto markets and now looking forward to enter into Indian auto market.

The company had already showcased the new Maruti Kizashi at the 10th anniversary of Delhi Auto Expo 2010. The new car will be powered by 2.4 litre, CVT technology with paddle shifts which can develop awesome power output of 131KW at 6500rpm and produces maximum torque of 230 Nm at 4000 rpm. The new Maruti Kizashi will speed up from 0- 60 mph in 8.0 seconds. It is believed to give a mileage of 14 to 15 kmpl. Some of the other components of the car like 6 speed manual gears, eight airbags and keyless ignition to make it more comfy and safety.

pricing details has not yet been announced, but it is speculated that the new car will be available with amazing price range around Rs 12 lacs. (ex-showroom,Delhi). It might be fitted with classy features, which may helps to attract more new customers in the country. After the launch new sedan in India, the company will face a tough competition with leading premium sedan cars in the market Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Hyundai Sonata, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Jetta, and Chevrolet Cruze.

The Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched a limited edition of one of its oldest and most successful premium hatchback Maruti Swift in the Indian market. The all new special edition Maruti Swift model has been launched to celebrate the company's recently (in March 2010) achieved landmark of selling more than 1 million cars in a single year. Only 1000 units will be sold of this limited edition Swift in the country. The launch of new edition of Swift model will further boost the sales of this largest selling hatchback in the country. Interestingly, the one millionth car of the company in the financial year 2009-10 was also a Swift car which was rolled out from its state-of-the-art Manesar plant.

The new limited edition Maruti Swift will be available in a special Goldsmith Black color and will carry an array of new generation comfort, style and entertainment features including splendid graphics, luxurious leather seats, special integrated stereo with USB and speakers, cushions, an artistic decal on the exteriors and foot-mats. The new Swift model has been branded as the Swift One Million Edition.

According to a statement given by Mr Mayank Pareek, Managing Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), It is indeed a moment of pride for the company and the Swift One Million Edition is Maruti's gesture to show gratitude to its customers who have strongly supported it in its journey to reach the milestone of one million sales in one year. He also added that the interiors of the Swift One Million Edition have aesthetics of a commemorative edition and the new features and the characteristic body graphics together complement the sporty character of the Swift. According to him, the company is confident that this special edition will bring pride to the select owners who get to possess it.

The all new Swift One Million Edition is available in petrol version and carries a price tag of Rs. 483,079 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Maruti Swift has also created a Guinness World record for the largest gathering of Swift cars in May'10 when the company organized a massive parade in Gurgaon to celebrate the completion of the five years of this car in the Indian market. The Swift model has won the Car-of-the-Year in as many as 11 countries along with having over 40 national and international awards to its credit.

Recently Maruti had also launched the SX 4 Special edition named as the Royale and a special edition of the Ritz, called the Genus. Maruti has a liking for launching Special editions and has in the past got special editions for the M800, Esteem, Zen and the Estilo.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India’s car market leader, sold a total of 104,791 vehicles in August 2010, growing 23.6 per cent in the month. This includes exports of 12,117 units. This is the highest ever monthly sales recorded by the company. The company had sold a total of 84,808 vehicles in August 2009. Maruti Suzuki’s volume in the domestic A2 segment grew by 25.7 per cent and in the A3 segment the sales volume grew by 34 per cent during the month as compared to sales in August 2009. During the month the company launched Alto-K10 with 1-litre K-series engine and five CNG models across segments. Customers ranked Maruti Suzuki as the No.1 company in the annual Sales Satisfaction Survey conducted independently by JD Power, a leading global research agency.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has also launched an automatic transmission version of its popular premium hatchback car, Maruti A-Star in the month of August 2010. After successful launch of these models in the Indian auto market, the company comes again with one other product, Maruti Ritz 'Genus' in the auto market. India's biggest auto maker, On the occasion of first anniversary of Maruti Ritz has launched an special limited edition Ritz Genus in the country. On the other hand, Behind of Tata Nano, Maruti Suzuki is also intending to launch an another cheapest car, Marutio Cervo soon in India.

Maruti Alto K10 Launched; shelved at 3 Lacs

Maruti Suzuki India has launched a new version of its top most selling car Maruti Alto, today. The new version has been powered by the company's most popular K series engine. The all new Alto K10 has been shelved at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.03 lakh for the base LXi version and Rs 3.16 for the VXi version. The elder sibling with 800 cc engine would co-exist with the new Alto. The 1 litre K10 engine that powers the new Alto also finds space in the Maruti Suzuki A-Star, Estilo and the new WagonR. The K series engine is Aluminium based light weight engine and offers improved acceleration and pick up. The all new Alto is sure to give a tough competition to Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Santro. Maruti assures an ARAI approved mileage of 20.2 kmpl.

The 1 litre K10 engine would deliver a 68PS of maximum power at 6200 Rpm and 90Nm of maximum torque at 3500 Rpm. Compared to its sibling, the new Alto would be 50 kgs heavier and would reach a maximum of 100kmph in 13.3 seconds as opposed to 17.3 seconds by the 800cc Alto. Apart from the engine being changed, the mechanical aspects of the car would remain same except re-tuned suspension, new cable type transmission for smoother gear shifts and booster assisted braking system. In terms of features there are some minor additions and alterations like dynamic hood, eagle eyed clear lens headlamps, fog lamps and body coloured bumpers.

In terms of looks the sides and front end would remain quite similar, but the rear end gets a new look with back door and fresh tail lamps. While in interiors the car would sport dual tone interiors, 3-spoke steering wheel and front and rear passengers integrated headrests. Alto has been one of the most popular models launched by the ace Car maker Maruti Suzuki but always lacked a good range of features which seems to be settled well in the new Alto. Power steering, internally adjustable ORVM, key reminder, remote boot opener, central locking, power windows, rear parcel tray, accessory socket, remote fuel lid opener and electronic trip meter are some of the most interesting accessories that the new Alto would sport.

Maruti Alto to be loaded with a new 1000 cc K-series engine

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the country's largest auto manufacturer, is planning to launch a new version of largest selling car 'Maruti Alto' soon in India. The new version will be loaded with a new 1000cc K-series engine in the entry-level hatchback segment. Alto recently got a newer look and feel it was made BS IV complaint on the current 800cc F-series engine. As per the latest reports the new Maruti Alto would sport a 1-litre petrol engine from company's much popular K-series engine.

Maruti Alto is hold at Rs. 2.29 lakh and 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The price would surely hike by a few thousands. Maruti Alto has been tremendously popular in India since its launch in 2000. The Alto remains to be the best selling model in the Indian auto market with an average sales of 20k units per month. However, the company has refused to comment on the exact launch date or price tag of the new version of Alto. Earlier, MSI commented that it wishes to develop all its cars with the latest K-series new ahead generation engine. The new version of Alto would be a part of the same plan of Maruti Suzuki.
