TVS Motors will invest Rs. 200 crore in auto market

TVS Motors has announced that it will invest Rs. 200 crore in auto market by April 2011 to increase its production capacity upto 28 lakh units. TVS also wants to set up a design centre in Indonesia where it has already a manufacturing units.

Venu Srinuvasan, Chairman, TVS Motors told that the demond of production are increasing day by day and to meet the demand its nessecarry to invest Rs. 200 crore for increasing production capacity upto 28 lakh units from the existing 21 lakh units per annum.

He also added that the company expect to sell 18 lakh units of two wheeler in the donestic market and export 2.5 lakh units this running year. TVS is also planning that Brazil to be the hub for latin American market.

Presently TVS has assembled its most popular bike Apache in Brazil, the company also wants to increase export to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and ASEAN countries. TVS Motor reported a rise of 14.80 percent in its total two wheeler sales at 15,21,912 units in the last fiscal year.
