The Honda CBR 250R is a powerful bike from Honda. Good news for the Indian bike lovers is that, this new model is going to be launched in India by the month of April of 2011 according to the announcement of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India. There will be two versions of Honda CBR 250R available in Indian market: the original version and the ABS version. The main difference of these two versions is the braking system. The original version use the interlock braking system while the ABS version use the anti lock braking system which prevents the lock of the wheels during hard brake. This system provides a safer riding. Along with the technology, the price also differs between the two versions. The price of the original version will be Rs. 1.5 lakhs and the price of the ABS version will be Rs. 1.75 lakhs in India.


The Honda CBR 250R has got a very nice look. The body of this bike is Y shaped which gives a sporty look. The dimensions of this bike are 2035 mm in length, 720 mm in width and 1125 mm in height. The ground clearance of this model is 145 mm and the weight of the bike is 161 kg. The body of the bike is made of steel which gives a strong and light body. The Honda CBR 250R will be available in India in two colors: red silver and metallic black. This bike is equipped with a 4 stroke, 250cc, 4 valve, single cylinder DOHC engine which is kept cool by a newly developed liquid cooling technology. The engine produce a power of 26 hp at a rate of 8500 rpm and the maximum torque is 23 Nm at a rate of 7000 rpm. The single cylinder gives a perfect fuel saving feature.

Honda CBR 250 R is one of the upcoming bikes that Honda has planned to launch this year. According to some news sources, it is loaded features with 249.4cc, 4 stroke, DOHC, 4valve water cooled engine. The power plant of new CBR 250R has got a good capabilities to offer superb power output of 26.4 bhp (18.7KW) which peaks at 8500 rpm (Electronically controlled) while produces maximum torque of 22.9Nm at7000 rpm.



The fuel efficiency is handled by the company's patented PGM-FI technology that ensure to give smooth and precise fuel efficiency. The new Honda CBR 250R is able to deliver better mileage of around 27 kmpl. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is around 13 litre which is good enough for long rides.The new bike comes with Combined braking system with Anti lock braking system (C-ABS), which is first time fitted with any 250cc bike.

Honda plans to launch CBR 250R by this Diwali

Honda Motorcycle and scooter India is mulling over to launch the new bike in India, which will be younger brother of the company most popular super sports motorcycle, Honda CBR 1000RR. The new bike will be known as Honda CBR 250R in the Indian auto market, which might be launched by this festival season. However, the company has not yet confirmed the launch of new CBR 250R in the country. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.5 lacs. The whole bike seems awesome and it is speculated that the design of this bike is inspired from Honda VRF 1200F. The Honda CBR 250R would be powered with a Liquid cooled, 4-stroke, Dual Overhead Camshaft 90° V-twin cylinder gasoline machine that can be produces maximum output of 45 PS power at 14,500 rpm while delivers peak torque of 2.5 kg-m at 10,500 rpm with its 250cc displacement.


Some of the other features which is the same Honda's PGM-FI technology with 296 mm single Hydraulic disc at the front and 220 mm disc along with momo shock hydraulic suspension at the rear. The new bike comes with alloy wheelers and electric start option. It is also comes with 5 speed manual gears with Multi wet plate clutch. The new Honda CBR 250R has got a good capabilities to offer better fuel efficiency of around 40 kmpl.


The fuel tank capacity of this bike is around 18litres and 3.5litres in reserve. The based model of Honda CBR series offering extremely well performance across the various auto markets and getting wonderful response. The new version of CBR series will help to increase popularity in the country. The new bike also features digital speedometer which is matched with the massive motorcycle, VFR 1200F. The exact detail of the colors of the new Honda CBR 250R is not available.
