Here are just a few of mine. Don't you like to see them all smiling?
Martin Luther King, Jr.
(have you seen Susan Sarandon portray her in Dead Man Walking?)
Nelson Mandela
"the struggle is my life"
Rosa Parks
Che Guevara
(and not just cause he was hot)
What all of my heroes have in common (those pictured above and those not) is that they all fought ceaselessly for what they believed was right. I think that we, as humans, have a responsibility to the world--how can we witness injustice and stand by silently? Not all of us can travel around the globe fighting oppressive governments and healing sick children, but we can all do something. We can volunteer, we can teach, or we can stand up for what is right when we hear someone make a hateful remark.
Thinking about how I can be more like my heroes today! Tell me, who are yours?
