The mobile giant, Sony Ericsson has unleashed latest three models of mobile handsets,a smartphone Xperia X8, walkman series phone Yendo and a 3G basic phone Cedar. The handsets will be soon available at retail shops in India by September.
Xperia-X8 is an entertainment-oriented smartphone based on Android platform. Cedar is the basic entry level model for 3G and Yendo is the full touch walkman phone. Xperia X8 has a 3-inches wide HVGA capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels resolution. Xperia X8 has in-built 3.2 MP camera and FM radio. Its speedy web browser supports quick video streaming and access to all kinds of social networking via Timescape and music player with PlayNow and TrackID. Xperia X8 is powered by 600MHz CPU and Google Android Operating Sysytem 1.6. For fast connectivity, there is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone has capacious 128MB internal memory and a 2GB microSD card. The memory can be extended to 16GB.
Sony Ericsson has also launched a fully touchscreen walkman series phone called Yendo that features four corner touch user interface (UI) and it comes armed with 2 MP camera with digital zoom feature. Other music features of the handset includes a FM radio, a music player and a walkman player. Its 3.5mm audio jack, MP3/AAC tones and a Bluetooth A2DP stereo are quite good add-ons. It sports a 2.6-inches TFT screen with 320 X 420 pixel resolution, Yendo has micro USB connector, USB mass storage and modem also.
Cedar is the entry-level handset from Sony Ericsson with 3G capabilities. Cedar offers easy access to SNS through its specialized feature Widget Manager 2.0. It sports a wide 2.2-inch display. It packs a good 2 megapixel camera also. Its 3.5mm earphone jack gives great sound quality. The battery of Cedar is robust as it delivers upto 4 hours of talktime on 3G network.
