Yamaha ready to launch SZ in Indian market

According to India Yamaha's strategy to capture 10 per cent of market share in Indian two-wheeler segment, the company is launching latest and High-fi technology loaded bikes in all segments one after another. Now in this line, one more commuter bike named as Yamaha SZ is all set to hit Indian road by August, 2010, say sources.

Yamaha SZ was displayed by the company at Delhi Auto Expo, 2010. It has nice look and sleek front fairing, sporty graphics including fuel tank panel and rear panel and amazing stylish bold exhaust. Both body colored rear view mirror has fitted on the handle bars. In looking and style, it competes with Bajaj XCD 135, Suzuki Zeus, Hero Honda Glamour and Honda CB Dazzler.

This new commuter bike houses halogen headlamp with short wind sheet, analogue tachometer, speedometer, self and kick start facility and in the rear side sharp tail lamp, body coloured grab rail and rear fender also give it sporty bike look.

Yamaha SZ

The New bike, Yamaha SZ, is blessed with air cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine and displacement of 123.7cc, which generates peak power of 11 bhp at 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 10.4 Nm at 6500 rpm. It has 5 speed manual gearbox, 13 ltr fuel capacity; it gives 50 kmpl of mileage in city.

The Yamaha SZ comes with strong telescopic hydraulic type front suspension and hydraulic shock absorber rear suspension which make it a smooth vehicle. Yamaha SZ has alloy wheels and both brakes are drum front and rear. Matt grey colored silencer of the bike is stylish and heat cover also painted with same colour as silencer.

Yamaha SZ has sleek, strong and wide black colored seat which ensures more comfort for the riders when the riding. It uses arrow shape side panel design that is common to Yamaha bikes in India.

This new Yamaha SZ is expected to priced at Rs. 55,000 and it will be available in only two color range like Black and white.

Before the launch of this commuter segment bike, another major bike maker Suzuki has launched its cruiser bikes in India like Suzuki Bandit 1250S and Suzuki GSX R1000. Piaggio has also announced to re-introduce Vespa LX125 scooter in India.
