Vespa scooters, popular scooter brand in India long way back, will be re-launched by its parent company. The company, Piaggio planned to re-launch it by the end of 2012, but this time independently that was not the case earlier. In this production, the company will invest 30 million Euro during the financial year 2010-11.
The company already has launched the scooter brand in the market under ties-up with like of Bajaj and LML. The new avatar of the popular brand would be Vespa LX 125 and it will be running on the Indian road by the year of 2012.
The company is planning to set-up its own facility to produce the Vespa LX 125 Scooter, the plant capacity would be 1.5 lakh units per annum.
It is to be informed that Vespa 150 saw a great success in the market but after the brokek-up with LML the production was closed. And now the Vespa is re-entering by its original producer and it will compete with Honda Activa, Mahindra Duro, TVS Wego etc. However, the bike segment dominates the two-wheeler segmengt with the models like Hero Honda Glamour and Bajaj Pulsar.
On the other hand, Italian Ducati motors already has entered in the Indian market with the five new bike models including Ducati Sports Classic.
