Exclusive images from Google's GeoEye1 Satellite

GeoEye-1 satellite was launched on on September 6, at the time of its launch GeoEye-1 was the world’s highest resolution commercial earth-imaging satellite. The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and Google both paid $502 million for the satellite.

While GeoEye-1 is capable of imagery with details the size of 41 centimetres (16 in), Google will have access to details of 50 centimetres (20 in). The GeoEye-1 is set to serve not only Google but also the US government.

With Google having access to such high resolution images Google Maps and Google Earth are about to get that much sweeter. Way to gooo.. Google.
